Overall use the soft keys (left or right) in conjunction with the screen prompts (left or right). A screen prompt in the middle corresponds to the OK key.

Another tip whenever a choice is presented is to press the number key to quickly choose the item (instead of scrolling down to the item).

Messaging (hooray!)

From the portrait view, press "Messaging" (the little email/envelope symbol). Slide out the keyboard. "Options" -> "Create Message". Do the typing thing. "Send To" and enter the phone number. Finally (whew!) "Send".

"call ended" or "emergency calls only"

Charged: 5 bars in the battery indicator graphic (upper right) means it is fully charged. After charging, please disconnect the wall outlet FIRST. When the battery is weak and only a few minutes of talk time remain, the battery icon blinks and the device sounds a warning tone at regular intervals.
